Title: HARLEM ARTS ADVOCACY WEEK
Description: The Harlem Arts Alliance (HAA) kicks off the second annual HARLEM ARTS ADVOCACY WEEK on Thursday October 2 with an arts and business panel discussion, leadership luncheon and walking galleries tour.

At 10:00am the days events begin with the panel discussion titled, Harlem: Culture is Harlem's Business. Moderated by Vincent Morgan, Assistant Vice President, Community Banking, Commerce Bank, the confirmed panelists are Averlyn Archer, CEO & Curator, Canvas Paper and Stone Gallery; Barbara Askins , President & CEO, 125th Street Business Improvement District (BID) - who will make a multimedia presentation about the 125th Street BID; Arthur Barnes, Chairman, International Jazz Museum in Harlem; Maurine Knighton, Sr. Vice President, Program & Nonprofit Investment, Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ); Marcia Sells, Associate Vice President, Government & Community Affairs, Columbia University; and Brett Wright, Chief Creative Officer/Co-Founder, Uptown Magazine, Board Member, Apollo Theater Foundation Inc.

From Noon until 1:30pm, starting immediately after the panel discussion, is an Arts & Business Leadership Luncheon, in the Atrium of the Harlem School of the Arts.
